National Makeup Artist Event

So, it's been awhile since I last posted. I just got home this weekend from spending almost two weeks back home in Florida with my almost one year old. It was a mix of work/vacation. :) I arrived in Louisville late on Friday night, and then it was a super early wake up to prepare for the Estee Lauder National Event. We hosted it in Lexington at Macy's, and flew in Derek Miller, our National MUA from New York! He was full of fun new tips and creative "outside the box" ways of playing with color.  I can't wait to do a tutorial on highlighting and contouring with our liquid bronzer and "spotlight".

Myself and 7 other Regional Makeup Artists were also brought in to prepare clients for their sit down with Derek. I had a blast explaining all of our fantastic skincare and luxury Re Nutriv line. I also got to custom match foundation. We have a number of different types and finishes of foundation, but my personal favorite is called Resilience Lift Extreme. It offers great coverage and a beautiful dewy finish. Thank God, it's photo friendly! ;)

Not gonna lie though. I really did miss doing the whole package. I'm all about color, and teaching women how to achieve the look they want, based on the shape of their individual features. I kept feeling myself looking over at the color bar and wishing I was doing more of it. When we have Regional Makeup Artist Events, I get to play the role Derek played, and I LOVE it! This event was still a great opportunity, and I am always looking for new ways to stay fresh and current on the latest makeup techniques from New York.

When Derek left for the day, we still had a number of women who wanted to sit down, and I had a blast taking the ones with special requests. Some of the other artists prefer to work primarily with skincare, and like to hand over the special looks like "Bronze Goddess - Soleil"  to me :) Thanks, Laura for letting me use you as my guinea pig ;p

(As seen on Hilary Rhoda... Bronze Goddess - Soleil) Note the teal liner on lower lid!
